2025 - Health & Dental Plans Moved to Alumo (formerly StudentCare); GSS Executive Board Elections
Result: 2025-26 Director of Student Life Election Result – NOUREEN; 2025-26 Director of Internal/University Relations Election Result – ROBERTS
Result: As of September 2025, the GSS will no longer administer the Extended Health & Dental Plans. Alumo (formerly StudentCare) will take over administration of the plans. Members voted to reduce costs by an anticipated 5-10% for 2025-26. The unionized Health & Dental Coordinator position at the GSS will be reworked and the staff member retrained over the summer of 2025 to reflect these results.

2024 - Health & Dental Coverage & Cost Increase
Result: Increase to the Extended Health & Dental Fees for: inclusion of gender affirming care; improved coverage for vision exams; improved coverage for physiotherapy; increased frequency of dental exams. Scheduled increases to the GSS Health & Dental Fee to maintain insurance coverage. See results document for details.

Result: Assessment criteria for extended health and dental insurance on tuition accounts changed to include only full-time, on-campus students.
2023 - Campus Food Bank Support & Change to Health & Dental Assessment Criteria affecting Off-Campus/Distance Students

2022 - Food & Beverage Services - Reopening the Grad House
Result: GSS Fee increased to maintain Food and Beverage services at Halpern Centre, with a new mandatory Food and Beverage Fee of $11 per term for all on-campus grad students to fund the operations of Grad House Restaurant.
