The province’s 2026 budget has deferred funding for the development of the planned 510-bed residence building. The GSS will continue to fight to see this dorm opened as soon as possible. On November 25th 2025, the BC government announced an independent review of the financial sustainability of Post-Secondary Institutions (PSIs), citing concerns with the rising deficits in many of our colleges and universities.
