Front of House Staff (Server)

The Grad House Restaurant, operated by the University of Victoria Graduate Students’ Society, is hiring a daytime server. We are looking for a motivated and up-beat person, who thrives in a quirky, fast-paced restaurant. Must be able to work weekday mornings and afternoons.

Qualifications

Applicants should have the ability to multitask, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic with at least 2 years restaurant experience, Serving It Right and Food Safe Level 1.

Pay:

$13.78 per hour

Benefits:

All employees have employer paid sick days, MSP premiums, and RRSP matching plan. 

Full time employees (i.e. working 25+ hours per week)have an employer provided Extended Health and Dental plan.

Back of House Staff (Line Cook)

$14.68 to $15.60 per hour

Health Plan Coordinator - term position

The University of Victoria Graduate Students’ Society, is hiring a Health and Dental Plan Coordinator to cover a 10 month leave. 

The contract duration is August 5, 2019 – May 31, 2020.

Primary duties

The Health Plan Coordinator is responsible for the administration of the graduate student extended health and dental insurance plan, including:

  • administration of the plan enrollment;
  • maintaining records;
  • providing enrollment data to the insurer;
  • assisting students with concerns and questions about the plan;
  • works with the broker to resolve problems with the plan;
  • coordinates the fee appeal process and supports the appeal committee.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Skilled office software, with a high level of comfort with Excel
  • Experienced in office administration 
  • Highly accurate data entry .
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong capability for inter-cultural communication and the ability to explain complex policy
  • Able to handle confidential materials and manage records
  • Experience with health insurance plan administration an asset

Pay:

$ 22.50 / hr. 

20 hours per week/ 3 days per week with hours increased to 30 -35 hours per week from August 26 – October 11.
