GSS Fees
By enrolling in graduate studies at UVic, you automatically become a member of the GSS. Along with their tuition each term, graduate students are charged a GSS membership fee, which comprises multiple components. Each component of the fee is set by a member referendum. In accordance with that referendum, the fee assessed differs based on student registration. Please see below for a breakdown of the constituent components of our member fees.

Bus Pass
Students who are registered in at least one on-campus coded course will automatically be assessed for the U-Pass package on their tuition. Learn More
Health & Dental Plans
Check your tuition summary to confirm if you have been assessed for the GSS Extended Health & Dental Plans. Students are automatically assessed if they are registered in 3.0 or more units of on-campus courses (including thesis or dissertation), or registered as a Co-op student. These fees are assessed once per academic year, depending on the term of your entry into your program. Learn More
Financial Statements & Budget
The GSS is required to conduct a yearly audit under the regulations of the University Act. The audit is conducted by an independent accounting firm and presented to the members at the October Annual General Meeting.
