Ombudsperson

UVIC`s Office of the Ombudsperson provides confidential, impartial and independent advice and assistance to students who feel let down or unfairly treated within the University system. Problems commonly dealt with include: grade appeals, communication breakdowns, complaints, admission and re-registration appeals, housing difficulties and academic discipline.

Graduate students, undergraduates and the university jointly fund and oversee this office, and the GSS recommends seeking help from the Ombudsperson first about any problem.

The GSS Director of Student Affairs is a member of the Ombudsperson`s Advisory Board.
