Lauren Matheson (the graduate student representative for the Search Committee for the Dean of Social Sciences) asked me to reach out to graduate students for feedback on the Dean of Social Sciences position profile.
Here is Lauren’s message:
The university is currently conducting a search for a new Dean of Social Sciences. As outlined in the Procedures for the Appointment and Re-Appointment of Deans (GV0450), the process includes establishing the position criteria. Once established, the criteria will be used to evaluate candidates.
As a member of the search committee, I encourage you all to read and provide feedback on the draft position profile. This is your opportunity to share with the search committee any additional feedback on the opportunities and challenges for Social Sciences and the criteria for the assessment of a new dean. Please provide feedback directly through me—via email or telephone—before noon on Wednesday, February 19th, 2020. The search committee will then finalize the position profile and begin recruiting.
